The airline American Airlines will operate with up to six daily flights to Ecuador from the airport of Miami operating in the cities of Guayaquil and Quito.
Now yes and after having solved some issues that involved the frequency reallocation that were assigned for the suspended route from Dallas, American Airlines will have its greatest historical presence in the Ecuadorian market since 3 June 2021.
In December of last year we had already announced in this space the significant increase in frequencies by American both to Quito and Guayaquil., event that suffered more than one postponement as indicated in the previous paragraph, but now it is concrete.
Taking advantage of the very high demand for vaccination trips that has existed since Ecuador toward USA, plus peak travel season in the northern hemisphere, the airline will start operating 3 daily flights since June.
More American flights in Ecuador
Specifically, from the next 3 June American will operate its largest number of historical flights in the country with 42 weekly frequencies in total, offering by road and by city daily 578 seating, 4.046 weekly seats and 16.184 monthly seats, being the main North American operator in the country.
The third frequencies will operate at the following times:
Miami – Guayaquil – Miami
- Flight AA485 takes off from Miami at 9:29 am and lands in Guayaquil at 12:51 pm.
- Flight AA902 takes off from Guayaquil to 1:53 pm and lands in Miami at 7:24 pm.
Miami – Quito – Miami
- Flight AA2259 takes off from Miami at 9:15 pm and lands in Quito at 12:30 am.
- Flight AA946 will take off from Quito at 1:30 am and lands in Miami at 6:47 am.
These frequencies will be operated by aircraft Boeing 737 MAX, on par with him Boeing 787 which operates one of the three daily flights to both cities, but these could change depending on the season and demand for other aircraft such as Boeing 737-800 O Airbus A319 like the one in the photo in this post.

Pretty good 😃👌🏻 Nicolás for the USA 🇺🇸 and Ecuador 🇪🇨 Anyway….. Wouldn't it be better to send a B77W plus the daily flight of the B788 rather than sending several A319s?, B738 or B737 Max 8?
If they know that demand is going to increase, They could also operate the B787-9, B772/B77W and B737 Max 8.
American prefers to offer different schedule options to passengers rather than fewer flights on larger planes, It is a way of "marking territory"
Yes of course, United did or does the same, Aeromexico. However, Copa has preferred to send a larger plane like the B737 Max. 9 and continue on the B737-800 NG.
In the case of American, I hope we at least see the B787-9 for some time in Quito.
Carlos, the boeing 787 of American operates in Quito a few weeks ago https://www.nlarenas.com/2021/04/boeing-787-american-airlines-aterrizo-en-quito/
Nicolás, I know that American B787-8 operates in Quito. I am referring to the B787-9 variant, which is bigger.
Aaaaah yeah, I didn't notice that difference. For now more than enough -8, I don't think it's for him -9.
