The Cuenca Airport re-supply combustible on the guy's wing Jet A1 after months of having suspended this service.
After the closure of the Business Administration (ECUAFUEL) and the termination of the contract between EP Petroecuador and the DGAC, whose objective was to provide the reception service, storage and clearance of Jet A-1 in nine airports in the country, Cuenca becomes the first air terminal to have this service again.
The supply of combustible is important for the operation of the airlines and at the moment only Guayaquil, Quito and now Cuenca has the equipment and active and necessary infrastructure to offer this service.
Fuel supply at Cuenca Airport
Even before the alliance between CORPAC and FAYTA, flights arriving at Mariscal La Mar Airport they had to load in their tanks the necessary fuel for the return flight as well (considering taxi, hold, waiting for both routes), which generated a greater weight at takeoff from the starting point and greater consumption.

This situation also caused the flights to have a small waiting time in Cuenca in case of bad weather for example, which generated diversions to alternate airports due to the limitation and calculation of fuel on board.
Once the operating agreement between CORPAC as administrator of the airport and representative of the Municipality of Cuenca with the private company FAYTA has been implemented, the availability of Jet A1 fuel at this important Ecuadorian airport opens the doors to a more efficient and safer operation for all operators.
In this context, I was able to participate in the re-inauguration ceremony of the refueling in the Cuenca Airport, an important fact for national aviation that we hope will be replicated in the shortest possible time in the now 8 remaining airports to once again have this fundamental service.
