Wingo announces three routes with which it will resume its flights to Venezuela, operating towards Caracas and Valencia both from Bogotá and Medellín.

Wingo expects to resume and expand its operations with Venezuela, following the recent announcement of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics, INAC, to reopen its airspace to flights from Colombian territory. The company's first flight is estimated to take off next 4 October, When can the route between Bogotá and Caracas be restarted?. Ticket sales for this route will begin in the coming days., once the aeronautical authorities approve the itineraries that have already been registered.

Before the pandemic, Wingo was the only Colombian airline to have a regular air connection between both countries. It offered four flights per week between Bogota's El Dorado Airport and the Maiquetia Airport, that serves Caracas; which had to be suspended due to the closure of borders due to the pandemic. Thus, the company celebrates the decision of the Venezuelan aeronautical authority to reopen the skies for flights from Colombia.

Two additional routes between Venezuela and Colombia

In addition to the restoration of the route between Bogota and Caracas, Wingo will offer two additional routes between Colombia and Venezuela. It's about Medellin flights – Caracas, from 18 October next, thus connecting the Venezuelan capital with the second city of the country.

It will also offer the new route between Bogotá and Valencia, once it is approved by the Venezuelan authority, which is expected to open next 3 of November. Thus, the Colombian capital will join this business and industrial city in the Venezuelan state of Carabobo.

“We celebrate the reopening of skies between Colombia and Venezuela and we are committed to being a relevant air operator in that market.. We are going to start the operation between Bogotá and Caracas with the same capacity that we had before the pandemic. We will have the capacity that the market demands of us, pues sabemos que es una conexión aérea esencial y necesaria al conectar dos países hermanos.” expresó Eduardo Lombana, Wingo CEO.

Wingo, by offering an operation with greater coverage, reaffirms its leadership and commitment to air connectivity between these two sister countries, offering its travelers service alternatives that contribute to boosting and strengthening trade, the sightseeing and business between both nations.

With the reactivation and launch of these new routes, Wingo achieves 28 international routes, consolidating itself as the Colombian low cost airline with the largest number of routes operated abroad.
