Avianca, the only airline that connects directly and non-stop to Colombia with the United Kingdom, celebrate the first 10 years of operation of the iconic route Bogota–London.
The first flight took off from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá on 3 July 2014, with destiny to Heathrow, the busiest airport in London. The route was carried out in an Airbus A330 with 227 passengers and 13 crew on board.

This route has been fundamental not only for the Colombian market, but also for the region, connecting to countries like Ecuador, Honduras and Peru with the UK, and facilitating the transportation of key products such as flowers, fish and fruits. On 2023, Avianca Cargo mobilized more than 2.600 tons to London and throughout the first half of this year there are already more than 1.600 tons of cargo transported.
