Last 10 Ultra Air made its inaugural flight in Colombia and thus becomes the ninth regular airline in the country, took place in the mythical Taura Air Base, the ceremony for the 28 years of the Air Victory Cenepa and Combat Aviation Day in Ecuador.

28 years of the Air Victory in the Cenepa
This day commemorates the 10 February 1995 when the “Conejos” and “Broncos” squads made up of two Mirage F1 and two Kfir respectively, shot down three Peruvian planes, two Sukhoi Su-22 and an A-37B Dragonfly during the Cenepa conflicts of that time. In addition, this day also commemorates the feat of a A-37B Dragonfly ecuatoriano, that a few days before the demolition of the Peruvian planes, was hit by enemy fire which caused damage to its wing but managed to return to its base in Macas without major setbacks.

Due to all these events that exalted the pride of Ecuadorians, it is celebrated every 10 February this day with a military ceremony in Taura, Cradle of Ecuadorian supersonic aviation.
During this event, the heroes who participated in this heroic deed were remembered., the then myr. Raul Banderas, Capt. Carlos Uzcategui (+), Capt. Mauricio Mata and the Lieutenant. Wilfrido Moya, Emphasis was also placed on the importance of Ecuadorian Air Force not only defending our territory from the air but also for their support in transportation, evacuation and support to communities far from the Ecuador.
On this occasion, the ceremony was attended by several senior officials of the Air Force as well as the president, Vice President and Minister of Defense. In addition, the traditional recreation of the demolition of the planes was carried out, as well as a parade with the Halcones squadrons. (A-29B Super Tucano), lynxes (Grob G-120), Harpies (Airbus H145M) and the Twin Otter of the FAE.
Definitely, a civic date to remember that when our country was attacked, brave members of the FAE they defended us and defeated us in air combat, the only one so far in South America.
