The airline Wingo promotes international connectivity Medellin with two new direct routes to Guatemala and Jamaica.
Wingo, by the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment of Medellín, the Bureau of Medellín and Antioquia and the concessionaire of the José María Córdova International Airport, announced today the launch of two new international routes from the capital of Antioquia to Guatemala City and Montego Bay, Jamaica, with which the airline continues to strengthen the international connectivity of Medellin and expanding low-cost travel alternatives for travelers in the region.
With these new operations, Wingo becomes the only airline to directly offer these two routes from Medellín, thus consolidating its commitment to a city that today represents one of the most relevant bases within its operation in Colombia.
Two new Wingo routes from Medellín

For his part, Javier Benitez, manager of José María Córdova International Airport, indicated that “the arrival of these two new international routes operated by Wingo reaffirms the potential of the José María Córdova and Medellín airports as a connectivity platform for Antioquia and the country.. We are happy to continue accompanying the growth of the region's air supply and add new alternatives that facilitate tourism, the business and international connection of our travelers”.
Frequencies and scope of the new routes
The new Medellín route – Guatemala city will start operation next 25 June and will operate three times a week, Tuesdays, thursday and saturday. In this way, Wingo makes available to the market more than 30 thousand chairs a year, connecting directly and at low cost the capital of Antioquia with one of the most attractive destinations in Central America. This operation is added to the Bogotá–Guatemala City route, opened by Wingo in October last year and which has shown a positive response from the market. For his part, The Medellín–Montego Bay route will begin operation next 23 June and will have three weekly frequencies, Tuesdays, thursday and saturday. With this new connection, Wingo expands its commitment to Jamaica, a destination that has been registering growing interest among Colombian travelers and that is already part of the airline's international network from Bogotá.
