The airline LATAM Airlines restarted flights to Melbourne from Santiago de Chile and also announces new direct flights from Lima a Aruba.

This week two of the subsidiaries of LATAM Airlines Group They presented news on their routes, from Chile flights to Melbourne restarted in Australia, while since Peru a new route was announced Caribe with frequencies at Aruba.

LATAM Peru will fly to Aruba

The Peruvian airline LATAM Peru announced that, from 2 from December to 2023, A new route will begin operating between Lima, the capital of Peru, and Aruba, a Dutch territory located in the Caribbean Sea.

This new route will be the fourth LATAM Peru operate between Lima and a Caribbean destination, after Cancún (Mexico), Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) and Saint Joseph (Costa Rica).

Flights between Lima and Aruba will be operated on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with a duration of approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes. The aircraft used will be Airbus A319 O A320, with capacity for 12 passengers in Premium Economy cabin and 126 O 162 passengers in Economy, respectively.

The announcement of LATAM Airlines occurs at a time when the Caribe recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. On 2022, This region received more than 30 million tourists, which represents an increase of more than 60% with respect to 2021.

Direct flights with Oceania returned

Flights from the Chilean capital to Melbourne will have three frequencies, taking off every monday, Wednesday and Friday at 00:55 (local time), and arriving at the destination at 05:30 (local time) the next day. From Melbourne departures will be every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:25 (local time), arriving in Santiago at 11:20 of the same day.

The flights will be operated on aircraft Boeing 787-9, with capacity for 300 passengers distributed in Premium Business cabins, Economy+ y Economy. Previously, The group had already restarted its operations towards Australia in march 2022 with three weekly flights to Sydney, progressively increasing its operations until reaching a daily flight in December of last year.
